I decide to write about one very well-made, spacious and fuel efficient automobile. This model has been presented in New York last month, and the new generation gets some minor, but significant updates, however, we can expect the same quality. It is the new 2018 Subaru Outback. The new 2018 model comes with all-weather capability, new touchscreen infotainment and the potential buyers will love its modern and improved interior. I cannot forget a quieter cabin and well-known wagon versatility. It is Subaru’s best-selling model with a lot of devoted followers, however, the competition is very strong, I will mention, the Buick Regal TourX, Volvo V90 Cross Country and on the end, the Audi Allroad.
2018 Subaru Outback Redesign
Exterior and Interior
The exterior design of the new 2018 Subaru Outback is elegant, modern and, I must say, familiar. At the first sight, the new version is similar to the previous one. As for the updates, it features redesigned front grille and the new, sharper headlights look very interesting. Furthermore, I need to mention a new “Konoji” design daytime running lamps. We are able to choose between four models. The first two are 2.5i and Premium, the third one is Limited and remaining model is Touring. The first version is equipped with 6.5-inch touchscreen. As for the other three models, they will have new 8.0-inch touchscreen. I cannot forget Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, a standard rearview camera and advanced safety features. The list includes automatic high beams, active lane control, rear automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors and much more. From the inside, the new 2017 model comes with plenty of interior space for people and cargo. The interior layout includes comfortable front and rear seats, a new steering wheel and enough headroom and legroom for a pleasant ride. I almost forget two USB ports.
2018 Subaru Outback Engine
Under the hood, the new 2018 Subaru Outback is powered by a two engine options. The first option is a base 2.5-liter flat-four engine with the total strength of 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. The second variant is an optional 3.6-liter flat-six engine with the total output of 256 horses and 247 lb-ft of torque. These engines are matched with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and all-wheel drive is standard.
