It will be a crossover with good handling and easy third row access is always a good thing. As for the competition, the most serious rivals will be Honda Pilot, Kia Sorento, Chevrolet Traverse and the Toyota Highlander.

Like I said at the beginning of the review, the outer appearance of the new 2018 Mazda CX-9 is very modern, classy and eye-catching. Up front, we can notice mighty grille along with the long hood. The base models are equipped with the 18-inch wheels and the 20-inch wheels are present with higher trim levels. It also sports LED headlights. The potential buyers are in a position to choose between four trim levels. The first two models are the base Sport and Touring. The remaining two are the Grand Touring and Signature models.
The interior design of the new 2018 Mazda CX-9 is elegant and neat. First of all, we have the cabin with three rows of seats. It can accommodate up to seven passengers. Beneath the bonnet, the new 2018 Mazda CX-9 is powered by a 2.5-liter turbo-four engine with the total output of 250 horses and 310 lb-ft of torque, on premium fuel. With regular gas it drops to 227 horsepower. This engine is matched to a six-speed automatic transmission and we can choose between front drive or AWD versions. Estimated fuel economy for the AWD is 20 mils per gallon in the city, 26 miles per gallon on the highway and 23 miles per gallon combined. The fuel mileage for the FWD models is rated at 22/28/24 miles per gallon.
