You may ask me why I decided to write about the new 2017 Nissan Frontier. For me, this mid-size truck represents a solid competitor in its category. Thanks to its size, durability and unique value, the truck remains very popular with shoppers across the North America. The competition in this segment is traditionally strong and the new 2017 model faces serious rivals such as the Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon, however, the biggest advantage of the new Frontier is its affordable price.
2017 Nissan Frontier Redesign
The exterior design of the new 2017 Nissan Frontier is familiar, comfortable and simple-looking. The new version will be available in five trim-levels, the first three are S, SV and SL models, the fourth is Desert Runner and, the fifth is PRO-4X. We are also able to choose between two cabs. These two options are the Crew Cab and the King Cab. The first option is definitely the best solution for buyers who need to transport more than two people regularly. As for the exterior features, up front, we can notice body-color front bumper that looks very dominant. I cannot forget rear privacy glass, cargo bed light and locking tailgate. Its sliding rear window is also an interesting feature.
The interior of the new 2017 Nissan Frontier will definitely satisfy the majority of potential buyers. The layout is likable, versatile and designed to secure comfortable ride. As for the equipment, the base S models will have Bluetooth streaming audio and air conditioning. It also sports cruise control, rubber floor mats and mud flaps. I must also mention caps on the bed rails and a spray-in bedliner. The SV models are enriched with the features such as power windows, reverse sensors, power locks with remote keyless entry, heated seats and dual-zone automatic climate control is available. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is also a part of the interior layout. Continuing with the SL models, we are able to find an 8-way power driver’s seat, leather seats and side steps. It will also include a 4-way power passenger seat and a Rockford Fosgate audio with navigation. Only this version comes with a moonroof.
2017 Nissan Frontier Engine
Beneath the hood of the new 2017 Nissan Frontier King Cab models we can find a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with the total output of 152 horses. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, however, a 5-speed automatic transmission is also available. The Crew Cab models are powered by a 4.0-liter V-6 engine that generates 261 horsepower, the engine is matched with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed automatic gearbox is optional. This engine option is also available in the King Cab models.
